Dave Kawamoto introduced Mike West, who is the new co-Athletic Director.

Minutes from the June 5, 2006 and August 14, 2006 meetings were approved.  Motion made by Shelley Mossman and seconded by Holly Hill.

Treasurer's Report: Judy Hill read aloud the Thank-you card received from Judy Namanny for the retirement gift that the Boosters gave to her in June.
Twelve new memberships have been received so far this school year.
Approximately $1200 in income has been received so far in cloth sales and      memberships.
No other financial activity this month.

President's Report: Dave reviewed the fund raising activities which the Boosters have held in recent years,
including memberships, cloth sales, Football barbecues, and the silent auction/golf tournament. Need to determine  whether or not we want to have the golf tournament this year, and if so where it will be held and who will chair the committee.

Cloth Report: We will need to reorder the maroon sweatshirts, as our inventory is low.  We could possibly switch
to a new color...gray with maroon lettering?  Motion made by Holly Hill to allocate up to $1000 to purchase more
sweatshirts.  Seconded by Shelley Mossman, and passed unanimously.

Aris suggested that the sweatshirts be displayed and order forms be available in the student store so that the
 students can order more easily.

Athletic Report: Craig Ellegood reported on the Fall sports.  Water polo is under way and doing well. In a recent tournament the team was 18th out of 32 teams.
    Football is undefeated thus far.
Field Hockey and Volleyball are doing well.
Cross country started their season with a meet at Lynbrook last week.
    Tennis has not started yet.
All coaching slots for the year are now filled except for assistant track and field coaches and JV badminton
      coaches.

Student Report: Nadia Basilio and Aris Harutyunyan are the ASB Athletic Commissioners for the 2006-2007
school year.  They reported that they have sent out emails to the coaches asking for nominations for the
Athletes-of-the-Month for  September.  They want to try to increase student awareness of this award as well as
improve the presentation of the award.  They plan to announce the awards at the Fall Sports Awards Night, and
to give the recipients a CHS lanyard as well.

Fall Sports Awards Night is scheduled for November 21st at 7 p.m. Craig Ellegood suggested that in order to try
to get a better turnout, the Boosters could do a barbecue before the program, perhaps at 6 p.m. Nancy will contact Eric Walukiewicz to check the dates and see if we can do the barbecue an hour prior to the awards program.

New Business: There are 5 home football games for which we need to schedule people to work at the barbecues.
Carol Scibetta will collate the names of  members from the membership forms.  Holly Hill will set up the
barbecues, do the shopping and staff the JV games.  Nancy Boyle will staff the Varsity games.

Football, Wrestling and Aquatics have turned in invoices to the Athletic Department which will now be turned
over  to Judy Hill for payment  (wish list funds allocated last year).  We still need invoices from Field Hockey,
Baseball, Tennis and Track and Field.

Next meeting on October 9, 2006.

Meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
