Meeting called to order at 7:03 pm.
In attendance: David Kawamoto, Judy Hill, Mercy Haley, Judy Namanny, Carol Scibetta, Kayvon Ghaffari, Holly Hill, Paul Armstrong, Cary Matsuoka, Nancy Boyle.
Minutes from the January 9th meeting approved, with one correction. Motion made by
Mercy Haley and seconded by Holly Hill.
Student Report: January Athletes-of-the-Month were Paul Kim (Varsity Wrestling) and a female athlete yet to be named.
Winter Sports Awards Night will be held March 9th in the auditorium at 7pm.
Treasurer’s Report: Balance as of today is $9,994.59. The batting cage was purchased,
(wish list item from 2005).
Revised budget was presented.
Treasurer’s report was approved. Motion made by Carol Scibetta and seconded
by Mercy Haley.
Sweatshirts: Additional sweatshirts (approx. $800) have been sold to Baseball teams.
Athletic Report: Boys Basketball will be in the CCS playoffs. Last league game this Friday, Feb. 17. The first playoff game may be a home game, but will take place over the winter break.
A few wrestlers have made it to the CCS tournament, which will be on the last weekend of Winter break.
Still looking for a J.V. Tennis coach.
Principal’s report: Wesley Marks Memorial Endowment will fund scholarships again this year. Two $5000 scholarships will be awarded to seniors who have participated in athletics. This scholarship needs to be advertised in early March, as the family lives out of town and they always make the final
selections.
Facilities: *New bleachers at softball and baseball fields. Concrete laid (covered
by District funds). Cage needed around baseball backstops.
*There is currently no money in District Facilities budget for all-weather track. District does not wish to do any work on track until the entire track and field can be redone. This project probably will require a bond measure.
Cary asked if the teachers could be offered a discounted rate for the Golf
Tournament. Dave will make a special flier for them.
Old Business: Fliers for Golf Tournament ready for distribution.
Judy will send out email messages to members who will obtain auction/
raffle prizes.
Imahara’s is donating fruit and veggies for the snacks.
Wish List Committee (Dave Kawamoto, Nancy Boyle, Judy Hill, Carol Scibetta) will meet after general meeting to try to develop parameters for
the wish list process, as well as an application form to be used by the
coaches and a letter to the coaches outlining the program.
Website: chsathleticboosters.org is now hosted on tinorunners.org. Cost is
$12/year. The site has links to sports schedules.
